Youth‑led platform launches to help Toronto youth navigate services with lived‑experience insights

2026-04-15

Toronto, ON | April 28 2026 — A new, youth‑driven platform designed to help young people navigate complex systems and access support with confidence is launching in Toronto on May 6.

The Youth Resiliency Hub, available at youthresiliencyhub.ca, provides accessible, peer‑informed information, reviews, and insights on services across the city, including shelters, mental health supports, employment programs, and food banks.

Created with and for youth, the Hub brings together firsthand experiences, practical tips, and honest insights to help young people understand what to expect before accessing services.

“Young people often have to navigate critical supports at some of the most challenging moments in their lives,” said Kate Butler, President of the Helix Foundation. “The Youth Resiliency Hub is about removing barriers to information, building trust, and ensuring youth can make informed decisions based on real experiences. It reflects what’s possible when we centre youth voices in the design of solutions meant for them.”

A key feature of the platform is its moderated review tool, where youth can read and share experiences with services across the city. Submissions are reviewed to promote safety, privacy, and respectful dialogue, and reflect individuals’ personal experiences.

“When you’re trying to find help, it can feel overwhelming and confusing,” said a youth contributor to the Hub, who asked not to be named. “This platform is something we wish we had. It’s real information from people who’ve been through it, so you don’t have to figure everything out on your own.”

The Youth Resiliency Hub is designed to support access to honest, practical information and to help youth feel more prepared when navigating services. It is not intended to replace professional advice, care, or guidance.

Youth are encouraged to explore the platform at youthresiliencyhub.ca, share their experiences, and help shape a resource built by and for their community. Community members and service providers are encouraged to share the Hub widely and support youth in accessing and contributing to the platform.

The official launch of the Youth Resiliency Hub will take place on May 6, 2026, beginning at 4:30 p.m., and will feature a youth‑led zine‑making workshop and a ribbon‑cutting ceremony. All community members are encouraged to attend.
